I incorporated the picture from the study “Drawing as Social Play: Shared Meaning-Making in Young Children’s Collective Drawing Activities” by Tiina Kukkonen and Sandra Chang-Kredl. I thought this would take the piece to another level with incorporating a visual element from the study that I mentioned. The picture helps with understanding the logistics of the observational study itself, with also giving the reader a visual to the text. I put the picture where I did because it’s right in the paragraph that talks about the specific observational study that it is from.

I also incorporated a link to a YouTube video, which a therapist talks about the topic of divorce and how she uses art to understand how children perceive divorce between their parents. I thought that this video would help the readers think about the benefits that art can have on children from divorced families. The video expands on my own points, so I thought it would be a good source for the readers to get more information. I placed the hyperlink on that specific sentence because I thought it would work with my personal experience paragraph.

Lastly, I embedded a pop quote stating, “I would sit with her with a white board and just draw as we talked about my life and my parents.” I made this specific quote pop out because I thought that if a reader were to skim before reading it would give them an idea of what the paper is about. It also helps make my personal experience with divorce have an impact on the reader. I placed it where it is because it is right before my naysayer paragraph to keep the idea that art helped me so it can help others.
